  • WEATHER BRIEF

    EACH MORNING we’ll dive deep into the forecast, from a zoomed out perspective with Synoptic charts and wind profiles at important heights through to our most powerful tools, the Skew-T & Model divergence.

    Explaining what we think will happen as the day progresses, from simple height of Cloudbase, temperatures found there and any slower, turbulent layers to be aware of.

  • TASK BRIEFING

    HALF THE BATTLE is understanding the day, its length and operational height. From there we’ll pick the OPTIMAL task for the day’s conditions.

    Explaining key parts, where time should be invested and the places where we can easily eat kilometres, fast.

    Once you’re making GOAL everyday then it’s time to start increasing our average SPEED.

  • GET THERE FASTER

    THEORY will include higher level XC CONCEPTS that will help us simply cover ground faster.

    Armed with how to BEAT stability, where to find the FASTER climbs. Understand when to DISCARD which doesn’t serve and learn some the tools to simply arrive HIGHER.

    Technique gets you HIGH, Tactics keep you HIGH.

DAILY RUN THROUGH

After the morning WX briefing at our base we will head up to launch, around 15min in the van..

Once there we will have a short, concise talk about the TASK for the day.

Task briefing will consist of turnpoints for the flight, START time and how we should attack the route, any important sections pointed out.

Once launch time is reached we’ll head off along the chosen route, to the START window. Kelly will be flying with the group at the speed of the day.

Debrief will consist of a short, informal chat where Kelly will describe how he attempted the set course. Pilots will be encouraged to compare this and how they attacked the route.

PLEASE NOTE: Kelly will be flying a RushSIX for these weeks, so there will be NO performance advantage.

LEVEL: ADVANCED

Pilots wishing to attend will need at least 150hrs plus an extensive amount of thermalling experience. And, of course, all pilots will be expected to be able to launch and land out competently.

Most of the time we stay at the Garden Relais, it is a little more expensive than some paragliding accommodation. There are other options on our booking page and of course Air BNB, Booking.com etc.

Flying into Treviso or Venice is very convenient, simple and inexpensive..
