Big Wednesday, 183k in Pinzgau…

I’ll post pictures and write a little more in the next few days but thought I’d just like to report that I’ve been planning a 200km triangle around Ziller, Tux and Pinzgau valleys for a while.
Today was a good day with myself and local pilot Bene flying a fast paced 200km route, I figured 8hrs we managed 170k in 6hrs 30mins then we got stuck in shade and wind, really challenging.
It took over 2hrs to do 15km having to stop in super weak thermals to get back to base, it never happened even though we climbed out to 2300m from 1400m.We landed next to each other in Krimml unable to clear the Gerlos Pass, 20km from goal. Bene had spent 9hrs 15min airbourne.
Amazed how Tom Walder can fly 250k+ triangles on consecutive days, 10,5hrs a flight. Animal!
