This was Red Dragon Paragliding’s first official trip and what a trip!!! All the guys with me all came away from Bassano with personal bests, some for the highest or the longest Xc.

The flying was stunning, you could track along the ridge get some height, push out into the flat lands for some nice relaxed thermalling and get some distance done.

I will definitely be running a trip with Kelly next year to Bassano as Kelly’s guiding skills, local knowledge and not to mention his top class flying abilities helped all of us have an excellent week when the rest of Europe was either washed-out or blown-out.

Fly Safe.

Looking at Wednesday's flight log on Seeyou, shows me falling out of the side of climbs more than out of the back - usually falling out on the turn back into wind. So I presume I've got to let the outside brake up for a couple of seconds more to reduce my turn radius in that phase of the 360 (see 'Tips for Better Thermalling', folks).

'hopefully I'll have that error nailed by the time I come out again next year.

Hi,

Very nice blogg! I guess I have more or less tried to use the Valic method but as you say, legs get tired. Will for sure try the Steigler method. Have not seen it before. Nowdays, on a DHV 2, I allways use 70-100% speed bar on glide between thermals.
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers

just checking that I can leave a comment, please leave something if you´ve read anything so I know that I´m not just writing a dear diary in cyber space. It´s geeky enough keeping a blog let alone one that no one reads... hahaha
